the Clot de Galvany
The Clot de Galvany
is a Nature Reserve located within the Municipality
of Elche situated just a stones throw away from Gran
Alacant.
Guided Tours
Guided tours by The
Clot Monitors are available on Sundays and Festival
days. Meet at the Nature Classroom for about 1000hrs
for an audio visual introduction followed by a stroll
around The Clot. For larger group tours i.e. Associations
and Colleges these can be arranged by telephoning
96 665 8028.
Routes
Route One -
Clot de Galvany
The marked trails leave
from the Nature Classroom. Route One heads towards
the natural and artificial ponds and wildlife observatories
where visitors can observe in comfort many aquatic
birds.
Route Two -
Cabeço-Carabassí
This marked trail takes
visitors towards the hills of Cabeço-Carabassí
which surround The Clot de Galvany. Here there's lots
of pine trees, palms and bushes including thyme, lavender
and rosemary. The higher the better the views of surrounding
mountains and wetlands. Along the journey there's
military trenches and bunkers dating back to the Civil
War.
Opening Times
Open all year execpt
July and August. Monday to Friday 0800-1400hrs (occasionally
to the public). Saturday, Sunday and Festival Days
1000-1400hrs 1600-1800hrs.
