February 2010 - Crowds gather for the inauguration of Gran Alacant´s Municipal Park
Parque Municipal Sierra de Santa Pola
Gran Alacant’s Municipal Park was officially inaugurated on Sunday 7th February 2010 by Santa Pola’s Mayor Miguel Zaragoza Fernández. Residents came from around Gran Alacant to see the official opening of the park which was given the name Sierra de Santa Pola.
opening ceromony followed by the reformation commenced in February 2012 paving the way for new wider pavements on both sides of the street from the Municipal Park roundabout (Avda Escandinavia) to Urb. Panarama (towards the sea) with some trees.
Gran Alacant’s market has been given the name El Chato after one of the most symbolic street traders of Santa Pola: Alejandro Amador Molina El Chato. The market was officially inaugurated on Friday 21st November 2014 by Alejandro´s widow Doña Laura Torres Martinez accompanied by Santa Pola’s Mayor Miguel Zaragoza.
Gran Alacant’s Sports Centre is in memory of Jose Antonio whom dedicated much of his time to the sport of Santa Pola. The centre was officially inaugurated with an open day by the Santa Pola Mayor and the family of Jose Antonio on 27th November 2011.
Gran Alacant’s Roundabout was officially inaugurated on Sunday 13th February 2011 by the Santa Pola Mayor. The roundabout is the first in Gran Alacant to feature a cascading fountain and given the offical name Cabo de Santa Pola.

wer in der Nähe ist sollte sich diesen tollen Aussichtspunkt nicht entgehen lassen.
Der Skywalk wurde 2015 für ca. 300.000 Euro erbaut, ist 100m lang und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Küste von Santa Pola und an klaren Tagen kann man bis nach Benidorm schauen. Die Insel Tabarca ist auch gut zu sehen.
