Helping Families in Need at Christmas
Gran Alacant´s shoppers have been more generous this year, even with the current economic crisis donating 1,310 kg in 15 shopping trolleys for the families who find themselves unable to pay their household bills and with no money for meals.
Last year 1,220 Kg of groceries were collected and donated to the Santa Pola branch of Cáritas in Santa Pola, a national charity in Spain that helps people in precarious and / or social exclusion.
The event is organised by ASVEGA an independent neighbourhood association providing ideas and activites to improve services and achieve a better quality of life for all neighbours in Gran Alacant.
