Los veterinarios ahora creen que el problema viene de su columna vertebral, lo que deja sus patas paralizadas y le costaba mucho orinar… y estas dificultades provocaron problemas en el hígado y los riñones.
Sigue con un fuerte tratamiento de analgésicos y antiinflamatorios y le damos alimentos que contienen mucha agua.

✅ We have finally picked names for these two lovely girls, mother and daughter, rescued two months ago in Alcantarilla, Murcia! They were malnourished, abandoned on a piece of land, without food and water.

🐴 💜 🌸 Mum has been named LIBERTY to honour the memory of a mare we had in the past at our sanctuary, one of our most heartbreaking stories:

Liberty (the first) was in foal when rescued along with 13 horses from an illegal horse dealer in Callosa de Segura. These horses were kept in the most appalling conditions – chained to a concrete wall 24 hours a day with very limited access to food and water, they were all literally starving. She gave birth in our fields. Little Lily was tiny, malnourished just like her mother.

Just six weeks later, Liberty collapsed because of an internal hernia. Despite two surgeries, she couldn't be saved.

Little Lilly was left an orphan. Another mare named Rosie, who had been chained next to Liberty before their rescue, immediately took on the role of surrogate mother.

Sadly, probably because of poor foetal development, Lilly had several health issues and passed away two years later, leaving us heartbroken.

🐴 💜 🌸 The filly has been named JASMIN, from our superstar young volunteer Jasmin from Switzerland, who is currently staying at the rescue centre as a 'working holidayer'. Jasmin is helping in so many ways in these difficult times: she works tirelessly in the stables, fields, and she has many projects to raise funds for the foundation. Thank you Jasmin! 😍

🇪🇸 ¡Por fin tenemos nombres para estas dos preciosas yeguas, madre e hija, rescatadas hace dos meses en Alcantarilla, Murcia! Estaban desnutridas, abandonadas en un descampado sin agua ni comida.

🐴 💜 🌸 Mamá se llama ahora LIBERTY para honrar la memoria de una yegua que tuvimos en el pasado en el santuario, una de nuestras historias más tristes:

La primera Liberty estaba preñada cuando la rescatamos en 2014, junto con 13 caballos de un negocio ilegal de caballos en Callosa de Segura. Estaban guardados en tremendas condiciones, encadenados a una pared las 24 horas del día con un acceso muy limitado a agua y comida, hambrientos. Dio a luz en nuestros campos a Lilly, una potrilla tan débil y desnutrida como ella.

Seis semanas después, Liberty colapsó, sufriendo de una hernia intestinal. A pesar de dos cirugías, no pudimos salvarle la vida.
La pequeña Lilly se quedó huérfana pero Rosie, una yegua que estaba encadenada al lado de Liberty antes de su rescate, se hizo inmediatamente su madre adoptiva.

Tristemente, Por el mal desarrollo fetal debido al mal estado de su madre, la pequeña Lilly tuvo varios problemas de salud y falleció dos años más tarde, dejándonos destrozados.

Every day the fields have to be cleaned to help keep the flies at bay, prevent infestations of worms and to provide a hygenic and pleasant environment for our equines to live in... we work in teams to help make it easier..
