Pola Sharks is a newly formed
Rugby Team in Santa Pola. It is currently formed as an association
with future plans in place to be registered in the Federacion
Valeniciano de Rugby with headquarters in Valencia. Our Intention
is to get the first season, with all the preparation needed for
the players of all grades foremost from Senior mens right down
to Semi/ non contact 5-8 years old before entering the league.

Founder and Director - Antonio Nawaqavou `Antonio
wants to set up a totally new club bringing back some of the old
teaching of rugby values, spirit and mix with modern coaching...'
Antonio is the oldest of 3 rugby
playing brothers Pictured far left (Setefano - Brothers Rugby Club, Brisbane, Australia,
Benditto - Vallejo Barbarians Rugby Club, San Fransisco, USA)
born into the rugby family of Nukubalavu, Savusavu (Hidden Paradise),
in the Fiji Islands. He played most of his rugby and
started coaching in New Zealand at the Star Rugby Club, (Spotswood
UnitedRFC Merger of the Spotswood College Old Boys) Runner Up
- Finalist Vs Kaponga Rugby club (Ex All Black Fullback - Kieren
Crowley and his Brothers, current Canada Coach) in 1984 second
division of the Taranaki Rugby Union in Taranaki New Zealand. Back in the good old days of rugby
he played at the top level before moving to Auckland and joined,
Auckland Grammar Old Boys, also the club of the former All Blacks
Captain, Gary Whetton and his Twin brother Alan J Whetton, (the
only Twin Brother ever played for the All Blacks), where he also
played top club rugby. He took up coaching a bit more seriously,
and he is married to a Spanish Barrister of Las de Rozas. Madrid,
where he has coached few top clubs since 2004. He has won 2 "Madrid
Cup" with 2 different top clubs, one as head coach and the
other a forward coach, all within a period of 3 seasons. He now wants to set up a totally
new club bringing back some of the old teaching of rugby values,
spirit and mix with modern coaching, as he has done with a few
clubs that he has been involved in lately, like the new set up
of N332 BAA BAAS SELECTION and the new Santa Pola Rugby Academy
(SPRA).
