of Keys to the New Allotment Owners
Gran Alacant's happy new allotment
owners receive the keys to the allotments and are now ready to
begin their work in the community allotment garden.
The presentation was held on the
26th November 2010 where Santa Pola's Mayor Miguel Zaragoza and
Gran Alacant's Councillor Loreto Cascales Martínez presented
the keys to the new holders of the 18 allotments constructed.
Gran Alacant residents were able
to apply for a plot by registering at the Gran Alacant Municipal
Office.
Loreto commenting on the allotments,`Our
idea is to have opening days for the rest of the people of Gran
Alacant and for the people to visit the allotments to see the
work that is done there'.
Gran
Alacant's allotments are located in the lower part of Gran Alacant
and adjacent to the Clot.
Work
began in May 2010 with the project costing 50,000,00€ with
funds provided for by the Government under Plan E for local employment
and sustainability.
